Winter in the City

It has been a while since my last posting, sorry for that... However, I seized the crazy, beautiful, freezing, mind-blowing, car-stopping, glaring winter weather as a photo opportunity during the recent days after christmas. Part one of the winter shots is down below: It is a series of photos I shot yesterday during an extended walk along the Elbe river in Dresden. It was brilliantly clear winter weather with about 20cm of snow. You have to know that is it definitely not usual that you can do cross-country skiing in Dresden. But this year is not a regular one! Yesterday the light was just crazy, pretty much golden. Check out yourself!

Industrial Romance

Well, it took some time for me to upload a new post. However, here it is. Although it is snowing right now in Dresden, the pics below show the sunnier side of my city. Well, not the sunniest one, since pics are mostly b&w ...

All roads lead to Rome...

This summer, I finally managed to spend some days in the ancient city of Rome. Overwhelmed by the historic ambience I could try out my DSLR for the first time. What you find below is my best of Rome pics.

Dresden Marathon

Today I took the chance to enjoy the great fall weather while shooting the elegance, pain and endurance of the many Dresden Marathon contestants. Since my last attempts to finish a proper running contest successfully failed furiously, I was happy to be spectator only... (However, the Rennsteiglauf will probably be on schedule next year.)

No surprise I took a run after the shooting ;)

Volleyball Time

Here we are. Last weekend I was scheduled to volunteer as linesman at a high-class volleyball tournament in my home town. As I grabbed my camera during my pause the chief organizer approached my full of excitement (probably due to the sight of my tele lens plus lens hood, which very much looks like I am a professional... ;) ) and asked my to take as much pics as I can so I can give them to him afterwards. In order to get full access to the playing field, he granted me even a press accreditation :D Well, now I am hired for the next year's edition of the tournament. Three days of shooting... my 16 gigs memory card won't last I believe.
But actually it was my very first try to capture some sports scenes. The 55-200mm zoom was worth the buy, but having the right thing in focus is pretty tough. Nevertheless, there is some usable output. See yourself:

A Day of Fall

Finally there is a new post! Not that you think I'm being lazy with my cam... just working on some time lapse videos. Though it looks like I need a better tripod and a remote shutter trigger...
However, you get some new pictures today and during the week. Below you find photos of my family in the garden during a day of fall. Enjoy!

Red Bull Air Race

Ealier this summer Andrej and I went to see the Red Bull Air Race on the Lausitzring. In contrast to the weather the days before it was sunny, so we really had a good day. However, we were a bit unlucky to have stood behind an enourmous security fence... Good for the lives of the audience, bad for taking pics. Nevertheless, I found some opportunities to have some fun doing photoshopping! See yourself:

Frog King

Hi guys,
today you only get two photos. Last weekend it happened that a little fairy tale happened in our garden. Well, no golden ball but a red, and no princess but a prince. Nevertheless, the kiss still happened. However, we are still waiting for the miraculous transformation...

Sights of Flat-Sharing

Since there will be some changes in our shared flat in the next weeks, I tried to capture the idiosyncratic scenes which I believe are most typical for the life in our home.

Dresden Icons

I love the city I'm living in for years now. Some urban details become some kind of iconic for me, so I tried to capture those images. This post is the first series of photos documenting DRESDEN ICONS.
